I still remember how “Good” things were little over half a decade ago. Before everything came crashing down, being an engineer was looked at with an envy and being an engineering student was like being told how good your life will be as soon as you pay your dues and get yourself out there to join the big party that is the job market.
Incredible job offers with signing bonues were everyday things you hear from people just crashing out of the gates of graduation and entering the “Career” with full throttle.
And then… Everything came crashing down. For well over three years, all I heard was horror stories of how little jobs were available. I personally knew of people who couldn’t find anything for close to a year before finally either making a drastic career change or just take the first thing that came their way.
I, however, took the opportunity to surf the turbulent waves of jobs from various different companies all the while blaming my constant shift in career to the state of economy.
The new wave is now upon us and I’m still trying to see if the wave is big enough to last this time. How’s the water for you???
