How come not too many love songs sing of post marriage? I wonder if the song writters become less motivated or gets too consumed once they are married. Does the happily married life really give you enough time to be creative?
Well.. one thing I’ve noticed from my experieced.. I definitely have less time to do things I used to do. Blogging for example. No, I’m not saying my wife keeps me too busy but it just happens that I spend less time in front of the computer at home.
Speaking of which.. I think I have some other stuff to do right now..

Well, because of course once you’re married, you’re content for life! You don’t need songs to keep you motivated, keep your hopes up, blahblahblah! Songs are typically about transition: getting together (relationship or one-night-stand), breaking up, moving, temporary sadness, whatever is happening as a course of change. Nobody writes songs about being married to the same person for 6 years, just like nobody writes about driving the same car for the third year.
Oh, except maybe that one song — can’t remember who sings it or what it’s called — about how he still loves her after X decades. Okay. One.

Listen to country music. Lots of post-marriage mush.
