어디서부터 잘못되었는지…
시민권, 소셜카드, 케어카드, 운전면허증, 여권에 내이름이 가지각색이다.
분명 한국여권에 있는 이름으로 통일이 되었어야했을텐데.. 그것도 아니란말이지.
어디는 영어이름에 한국이름중 하나만 들어가있고,
어디는 한국이름만쓰고 어디는 모든걸 다 쓰고..
여태껏 캐나다에서 살거니 모 문제가 되겠냐며 신경을 안쓰고 있었는데.
떡하니 뉴욕으로 가게되었으니 복잡해져버렸다.
신랑이 name change를 해봐서 오래걸리고 복잡하다는걸 알기에
바꾸기 쉬운쪽으로 곰곰히 생각.
다행히도 시민권에 내 영어이름이 들어있어 그걸로 다 통일하기로 했다~
운전면허증은 renew해야해서 영어이름과 한국이름으로 제대로 바꾸고~
소셜카드는 영어이름만 넣을수밖에 없었다.
오늘 여권이름에 남편성 더하려고 갔는데.. 내 영어이름도 더할겸..
이! 럴! 수! 가!
다시 신청해야한단다. full amount 다시 내고… 1월에 renew했는데.. 아까워라.
지난주까지만해도 스티커 붙혀준다고 소셜카드받는데서 그러던데.. 그새 바꿔버렸냐.
미국에서 스티커 붙인걸 안받아준다나.
내일 토요일에 벨뷰 가야하니 여권이 필요해서,
다음주에 가서 하루만에 받을수있는거 하기로 했다.
돈이 배로 드는군… ㅠ.ㅠ

Google Translate is good, but not THAT good.
I get the gist that Mike’s IDs all have his name spelled differently, or based on his Korean name?
I have the opposite “translation” going: my official born name is in English (with some phonetic translations from Chinese being spelled in English). Then I move to Taiwan and it’s my Chinese name in some places, and in others (like certain banks) they take my English name (because it’s on my passport); in others yet, they prefer to use the Taiwan ID, which I don’t have, so they make one up and every place makes it up slightly differently!

Diane and I have decided to turn this blog into a family blog.
Hence the whole “she says” and “he says” separation.
